Sunflower Oil

26 September 2016

Sunflower oil is used in this project for a baking process as cooking oil. In this process, the sunflower oil must remain at a fixed temperature and is therefore heated up in a batch. The sunflower oil needs to be heated from 180 to 200ºC by means of a thermal oil of 260ºC.

Sunflower oil is an unsaturated fat which has a lower melting point than saturated fats. Sunflower oil also contains a lot of lecithin and wax. These substances are very polluting and so the sunflower oil has to have a high speed in the heat exchanger to prevent pollution, which we have naturally taken into account.
