Emulsion Cooler

15 February 2017

For a Goudse manufacturer in emulsions we have supplied a cooler to cool a very viscous emulsion from 135 ° C to 80 ° C. Despite the fact that the capacity (11 kW) and the required heat surface (0.07 m2) are not large, it is still a very difficult application. Due to the thickness of the emulsion, the speed of the product in the heat exchanger is not high. Speed is one of the most important driving forces behind heat transfer. Nevertheless, we have managed to select a corrugated monotube, where the speed of the emulsion is reasonably high. The corrugation also increases the turbulence, allowing us to achieve a good heat transfer.
